Walk the Line

'Tis the morning after Saint Patrick's Day and I am one cup of Starbucks to the wind. My schedule has been booked up on the tennis court beginning about a week and a half ago, and I am building a waiting list. I played my bagpipes for the Loafing Leprechaun, a well known Irish Pub close to work, on Saturday and Monday mornings. There I was heard playing on the radio on 92.9 Dave FM throughout Atlanta. I also played a gig for the big annual Saint Patty's Party at the Sullivan home in the Sugarloaf neighborhood where I work.

The cracks and crevices of the day are when I have been actually growing in areas outside of work(friendships, bagpiping, etc.) So all is good, but I wanna talk about the bigger topic today, what I stand for.

I do not want to make anybody confused as to what I believe in and stand for. I believe in God and in his Son Jesus Christ, who did indeed come to this Earth to save us from all our horrible sins that we have made and continue to make. I trust in God and put my faith in Him, that He is in control, despite the way things look at times. I have realized more and more each day that I simply cannot live a good life without Him.

Just for fun, say I did not believe in God, or that believing in Him did not make any difference. This would mean that lying would have no repercussions, thinking of others is pointless, and indulging in all the world has to offer is ultimately the best life one can have. Take God out of the picture and, well, since my life is just fleeting, blowing in the wind on this little Earth in the middle of a huge galaxy with no real rhyme or reason, I may as well just do anything I want to to do, right? No way, that is the exact reason people are ruining this world already. Just look into the politicians' eyes and see if you can find truth, or yet another person ripping, tearing, and manipulating his/her way to the top, at all costs. Look the same way at many of the "popular" musical artists, listen to their tone of voice. Does it sound like they are trying to speak truth into your soul, or are they simply appealing to your weaknesses in order to make a sale? What about actors? Models? Companies that sell stuff we do not need? Are they not all simply trying to seduce us? Of course they are!!! Let us not be ignorent of this! They are fighting to tear our lives into bits, all leading back to the almighty dollar that they want so badly so that they can say they lived their life to the fullest. Why? Because God does not exist, so who cares what the repercussions are!

Live simply, live happy, live free, and do not be manipulated. Each and every one of us has the opportunity to live right in God's eyes. Do it! He sees it.

Mark these words from William Penn as we close in on Election Day.

"Men must be governed by God or they will be ruled by tyrants."

On other fronts, the roommates are awesome. It is a great living situation, much more roomy than the van! I have begun practicing the pipes with a new friend/tennis prodigy at Sugarloaf, Martin Richenhagen (see pics below of us at the hockey game.) Martin plays the drums. He is from Germany and takes Art Appreciation in college.

Another reason why U2 is my favorite band. A family/band that plays together... stays together.

Walk the line... and don't go riding on that long black train...
