Break On Through to the Other Side

That's what the above image (taken through my van window) represents.

Rob and I have been here in Sacramento for nearly four days now. We have been camping/cooking in the van outside of the Racquet Club and stringing a few racquets on the side to make some extra bucks. Wednesday and Thursday Rob trained me hard and Friday and today were toned down days until I found out that I was an alternate in the draw today again, so I was the 2nd alternate and the 1st was the only one to get in... bummer but we still get to use the facilities, I can still practice with the players and get ready for a possible Doubles match on Tuesday. I'll keep you all posted on that.

Here's what happens on a usual day here:

~ Rob wakes up - makes a small snack and coffee while I read something in my Bible and say my morning prayer.
~ We do some kind of warm-up, whether it is a jog, medicine ball tosses or Rob will run me through one of his yoga routines.
~ Breakfast time! One of us will cook up some eggs & oatmeal, along with some yogurt and V8.
~ Tennis time! I'll go find someone on the circuit to hit with if I haven't planned it already.
~ Stretch time! Rob or the tourney trainer runs me through my stretch routine.
~ Lunch time! Tuna mac, turkey sandwich, more eggs, yogurt, or something of that sort... with some V8!
~ Fitness time! This is when I'll do my main fitness workout for the day with Rob.
~ Tennis time again!
~ Dinner time! Today it was hot dogs and baked beans, so I hope the breeze is flowing good through the van tonight!
~ Time to relax and wind down for the day ahead. Read a book, talk on the phone, drink a cup of decaf at the local Panera Bread and write a blog, whatever.

All in a day's work. I just hope it's not 105 degrees again here for a while! It was much cooler today, thank God!

Tomorrow is Sunday, God's day of rest, and that is exactly what it will be for me.

and may sunshine and happiness surround when you're on your own." - Rod Stewart - Forever Young

Signing off...

Hello Nathan, Laurie here. My daughter Leslie and I met you outside the cafe in Sac (ramento) on Father's day. You were playing for Rob's dad on the cell phone. I feel kind of bad because I didn't fully understand what you were doing at the time. If you guys had come over and visited during lunch I probably would have bought you lunch and heard more. I have a friend who works at and another who is a tennis bum at Natomas Raquet Club here in Sac. If you're here again let me know & I'll see what I can do to set you up and also play your pipes at Woodland (where we live on the other side of the Sac River) Presbyterian Church. We wish you well, keep up the hard work and hopefully it'll pay off. I don't have google so I can't leave my email. If you come back blog a message that I'll try to remember to check or ask for Sabrina at Natomas Raquet Club and Kathy Trott at Woodland Presby and tell them that Laurie Cagle told you to call them. You guys are in our prayers. Laurie
