Update from the Lone Star State

Okay, since I last posted I have:

* Slept in my van every day, and loved every bit of it - I've slept on the beach in Corpus Christi, at the tournament sites, etc.
* Really received some help from the Lord God almighty - Let me tell you in Corpus Christi I really felt down and lonely, worse than I've felt in a long time. It was then that I picked up my Bible again and started reading. I, for some reason, turned to the book of 1st Samuel and read all about this incredible man that followed God's orders day in and day out and reaped huge rewards because of it. This nearly instantly gave me strength that I haven't had in a long time. Now I've read through the entire book of Samuel and feel like I could walk through a wall... and I'm loving every minute of it.
* I've gotten closer to my Dad via our phone conversations than I've been in a very long time.
* I ran out of gas with no gas station for at least 20 miles either way. Somebody took me and drove me all the way to the nearest gas station to fill up a 5 gallon can, then back to my Van.
* I hit a big bird (not the Big Bird) along my way down through the empty space of South Texas while trying to make it to the next gas station without running out of gas again. I hit him right beside the Chevy emblem and he broke part of the grill I hit him so hard. Don't worry, he died instantly.
* I lost in the second round of the qualifier in Brownsville to a guy who beat the #1 seed in the next round worse than he beat me. I will be playing here in Harlingen starting Saturday.
* I've sold three FeedtheVan ads!
* I met two really cool guys from my neck of the woods in Brownsville. One, Parrish Preston, is from Atlanta, and the other, John Valenti (aka Blazed), who is from Charlotte and drives in a mini school bus to all the tournaments around the USA. He started when he was 24 also and is now 30, so he's been doing this for 6 years. I've gotta show you all his van. I'll do a video of it later. Here's his website.
* Not too many pics these days, as I have nobody with me to take them (hope you're doing well in Ohio, Andy!)

That's the latest news from the Lone Star State. It's off to training again now!

Signing off...

~ Nate
